Packaging Operator Job Opportunity
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a Packaging Operator to join their team. As a Packaging Operator, you will be part of the Manufacturing and Production team, supporting high-speed automated packaging operations. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and excellent teamwork skills, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Packaging Operator
Location: East Durham, NY
Pay Range: $24.50 per hour
Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 12.5-hour shifts | 2/2/3 rotation
What's the Job?
- Operate state-of-the-art automated toothpaste packaging lines running at speeds of up to 450 tubes per minute.
- Handle packaging materials and finished goods, including cartons, labels, pallets, caps, wrapping materials, and other production supplies.
- Perform routine quality checks, document production activities, and complete material transactions using computerized systems such as SAP.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area while performing autonomous maintenance and assisting maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance activities.
- Follow manufacturing procedures and safety requirements while identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and maintain production efficiency.
What's Needed?
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2/2/3 rotation schedule, including alternating weekends.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry, email, file access, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 55 lbs. and stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Previous manufacturing or production experience is preferred; experience with machinery, equipment maintenance, changeovers, pallet jacks, or forklifts is a plus.
