Job Description Associate Therapist (AMFT or ACSW) — Outpatient Mental Health & Substance Use In-Person, not a virtual position In-Person | Sherman Oaks, CA | W-2 | Starting at 3 Days/Week (Growth to 5) | $35/hour Rack up your BBS hours fast We're an outpatient mental health and substance use treatment center in Sherman Oaks, looking for a registered AMFT or ACSW ready to do real clinical work from day one: running groups, carrying an individual caseload, and getting every hour signed by an experienced LMFT supervisor. What you'll do Facilitate group therapy sessions for clients with mental health and substance use challenges Provide individual therapy and maintain an ongoing caseload Conduct intakes, assessments, and individualized treatment plans Involve and counsel family members to build healthier support systems Coordinate referrals to additional supportive services when appropriate Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation (case notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) What we're looking for Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field Current, active BBS registration as an AMFT or ACSW in California (registration number required) Alignment with medical cannabis harm reduction principles and nonjudgmental, client-centered care Comfort facilitating groups (or strong motivation to build that skill — Necessary) Strong documentation habits and written communication Empathy, sound clinical judgment, and genuine curiosity about people Compensation & details $35 per hour, W-2 employment (your hours count — no misclassified 1099 setups) Schedule: 3 fixed days per week to start (6.5 hours per day, 9:30 AM–4:30 PM with an unpaid 30-minute lunch, ~19.5 hours weekly), with additional days added based on performance — up to 5 days (~32.5 hours weekly) Paid sick leave per California law; paid rest breaks Weekly clinical supervision is provided at no cost to you In-person at our Sherman Oaks outpatient facility Company Description The Healthier Choice Recovery is a DHCS-licensed outpatient mental health and substance use treatment center in Sherman Oaks, CA.
