Experience Three years of medical‑surgical or intensive‑care experience. Licenses and Certifications Current Texas RN (or BNE Compact State) license required. BLS (Basic Life Support) course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required upon hire. Preferred Education Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Licenses and Certifications CCTC Job Duties Perform and document physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments, considering age‑specific criteria. Develop appropriate plans of care for patients, incorporating patient and family expectations and needs. Identify and implement nursing interventions, complete documentation, and coordinate interdisciplinary care. Prioritize nursing interventions; identify changes in condition from assessment, labs, imaging, etc.; report and take follow‑up action as appropriate. Evaluate implemented interventions, modify care when necessary, and document changes. Adhere to policies, procedures, clinical pathways, and nationally accepted standards of nursing practice; suggest improvements based on current literature and research. Provide education to patients and families, document provided education, and confirm understanding. Welcome and orient patients and families; encourage participation in care; review plans of care and explain diets, tests, procedures, and medications; and make rounds on patients. Report errors promptly and take appropriate follow‑up action. Supervise unlicensed support personnel and nurses new to the unit; delegate duties appropriately and within legal parameters. Respond to patient and family complaints effectively; report complaints to the Clinical Nurse Manager or designee in a timely manner. Participate in performance‑improvement activities; attend at least 80% of scheduled staff meetings and 100% of mandatory educational sessions. Perform other duties as assigned.
