MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Gastroenterology

 This full-time, on-site position offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality gastroenterological care within a supportive clinical environment serving the Medical Practice industry.

As a Gastroenterology physician at the Associate level, you will diagnose and manage digestive system disorders, perform clinical evaluations and procedures, and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care. This role is ideal for a dedicated clinician seeking to advance their practice within a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for digestive conditions
• Perform and interpret endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and endoscopies
• Manage chronic conditions including IBD, GERD, and hepatic disorders
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory work, and imaging studies
• Collaborate with primary care providers, surgeons, and other specialists
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient medical records
• Provide patient education on disease management and preventive care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols
• Stay current with advances in gastroenterology and evidence-based practice

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completed residency in Internal Medicine followed by a Gastroenterology fellowship
• Board certification in Gastroenterology or eligibility for certification
• Valid state medical license for practice in Portsmouth
• Proficiency in endoscopic procedures and diagnostic techniques
• Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skills
• Excellent communication and patient-centered care abilities
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Preferred: Experience in multidisciplinary or outpatient clinical settings
• Preferred: Commitment to continuing medical education and research participation

Schedule: Monday-Thursday (8a-5p), half-day Fridays

7 on/7 off scheduling available if interested

Light beeper call requirement

Daily Volume: 10-15 procedures in endo suite, 30 patients in clinic

5 endo suites onsite

Caseload: General GI; EUS and ERCO preferred, but not required

Support Staff: 1 physician, 3 APPs, 2 LPNs, 3 MOAs, 1 service line manager, and 1 office manager

Will accept new grads,

Must be board-certified
