Electrical Project Manager/Estimator- Commercial

Location: Gary, IN, US Date Posted: 06-12-2026 Experience: Mid Level Salary: $145,000 - $200,000 per year Job Details What You’ll Do This position is responsible for both estimating and managing commercial electrical construction projects from bid through closeout. Responsibilities Prepare accurate electrical estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals Review construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Develop project budgets and cost projections Manage awarded projects through completion Coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and clients Track project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders Attend project meetings and maintain strong customer relationships Monitor project profitability and identify opportunities for cost savings Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards Qualifications 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction Experience in estimating, project management, or a combined PM/Estimator role Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems and NEC requirements Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communication and organizational skills Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Journeyman Electrician background Experience managing projects ranging from $100K to $10M+ OSHA 30 Certification Experience with Design-Build and Design-Assist projects Knowledge of MS Project or Primavera scheduling software A bit about us We are a well-established commercial electrical contractor serving Northwest Indiana and the greater Chicagoland area.
