Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Intermediate Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nurse Wausau, Wisconsin This position involves providing patient care within an Observation and Inpatient unit at a healthcare facility. The role requires managing a high volume of admissions and discharges, interpreting EKG strips, and ensuring quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Job Details Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) ARC or AHA, minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, charting experience with EPIC, associate degree or certificate. Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Additional Information: Observation unit experience, background in step-down Medical-Surgical (MS) or Telemetry (Tele) units preferred. Ability to read and interpret EKG strips is required. Clinical responsibilities include managing drips such as Cardiac Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin. Willingness to work every other weekend and holiday, with rotational shift coverage. Flexibility and resilience are valued traits, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Scrub colors of any color accepted. During flu season, declining vaccination requires wearing a mask at all times, in accordance with facility policy. This contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, with low census periods typically in 4-hour increments. The unit has 8 beds, with a patient to nurse ratio of 1:4.
