Job Overview:
In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualized age-specific care to patients

Qualifications:
Required:
Has successfully completed a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for surgical technologists

OR

Holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):
Current BLS required (American Heart Association)
Successful completion of all Orientation and Departmental Programs with documentation

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):
Full-Time, Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm
37.5 hours per week

Essential Functions:
Maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes.
Ensure the patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative.
In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualized age-specific care to patients.
Maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patients physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.
Anticipates the surgeon s instrumentation and equipment needs during a case; anticipates when a case deviates from the normal and is able to promote a smooth transition.
Complies with all risk reduction procedures to prevent a fire in the OR setting, including safety practices associated with Laser and electro-surgery.
