Supply Technician

Purpose and Scope The job description covers the following jobs: Supply Clerk and Stock Controller Tech. Performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Responsible for inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies, and equipment. Responsible for material coordination for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Responsible for cataloging supply channels of a particular agency or field establishment. Works within a framework of established supply regulations, policies, and procedures, or other governing supply management guidelines. Deals with a variety of operating officials regarding limited aspects of program needs of the organization serviced. Contacts may relate to inventory requirements in a stable or standardized organization and to the adequate description or identification of less complex items which are new to the system. May contact representatives of commercial firms to obtain information regarding new items of supply, item characteristics, or procurement lead time; or representatives of government agencies (Federal, State or local) regarding the utilization of property. Essential Responsibilities As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties, which require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. Verifies materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages. Routes materials to prescribed storage locations. Stores, stacks or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods. Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials. Examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage; removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment. May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. Performs miscellaneous quality assurance duties including inspections, inventory process checks, inspecting and examining materials, article inspections, etc. Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required High school degree or equivalent is desirable. Three (3) years of material/supply functions, either in the military services or in commercial applications. Knowledgeable of governing supply systems/programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines. Analytical ability to define problems, collect necessary data, establish facts, and to take recommended action based upon applicable established guidelines. Possesses a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a government driving permit. Position may require travel and the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting to 20‑60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routine sitting, and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, planning/organizing skills, and the ability to work under deadlines. Other Responsibilities Safety – responsible for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment, completing all training requirements, fulfilling self‑aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks, and serving on safety committees and teams. Quality – responsible for ensuring services meet customer expectations, complying with Amentum Quality Policy and relevant documents, and fulfilling Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities. Procedure Compliance – responsible for implementing the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to the job. Compensation Details Hourly rate: $26.32 (overtime‑eligible). Compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws. This position falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA); in addition to the base hourly rate, recipients may be eligible for additional health and welfare payments to meet SCA minimums.
