Accounting Manager / Financial Reporting & Treasury Manager

Position Overview

The Accounting Manager / Financial Reporting & Treasury Manager is responsible for leading the Company's accounting, financial reporting, treasury operations, insurance administration, and shared services functions.

This role owns the integrity of financial results, the monthly close process, external audit coordination, financial reporting, treasury operations, and cash forecasting processes while partnering closely with the Director of Finance and CFO to ensure alignment between financial reporting, operational performance, and cash flow requirements.

The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and serves as the senior accounting and treasury leader for a multi-site, multi-entity manufacturing organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting Leadership & Close Management

• Own the monthly close process across all legal entities, including: 
• Lead and review: 
  • journal entries
  • account reconciliations
  • monthly close deliverables
  • close calendar execution
• Ensure timely and accurate financial results.
• Maintain integrity of: 
  • general ledger activity
  • intercompany transactions
  • consolidation processes
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.

2. Financial Reporting

• Prepare and oversee: 
  • monthly financial statements
  • consolidated financial reporting
  • management reporting packages
  • lender reporting requirements
• Partner with the Director of Finance to align operational performance reporting with financial reporting.
• Support Board, lender, and ownership reporting requirements.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of reported financial information across all entities.

3. Balance Sheet Governance & Internal Controls

• Own balance sheet integrity and reconciliation governance.
• Review key account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Establish and maintain standard reconciliation templates and review procedures.
• Strengthen internal controls surrounding: 
  • cash
  • AP
  • AR
  • inventory accounting
  • intercompany activity
• Monitor compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

4. Treasury Operations & Cash Forecasting

Treasury Operations

• Serve as operational owner of treasury activities.
• Manage: 
  • banking administration
  • bank account maintenance
  • cash transfers
  • credit card administration
  • online banking access and controls
• Maintain visibility into cash balances across all entities.

Cash Forecasting

• Own preparation and maintenance of: 
  • weekly cash forecasts
  • 13-week cash forecasts
• Coordinate cash forecast inputs from: 
  • AR
  • AP
  • payroll
  • debt service
  • recurring operating expenditures
• Partner with the Director of Finance on: 
  • CapEx cash requirements
  • operational forecast assumptions
  • working capital initiatives
• Support the CFO with liquidity analysis and lender reporting requirements.

Treasury Note

The CFO retains responsibility for:

• banking relationships
• debt management
• financing strategy
• capital structure decisions

5. Insurance Administration

• Coordinate annual insurance renewals with the Company's insurance broker.
• Manage collection and submission of exposure information across business units.
• Coordinate policy administration and claims activity.
• Ensure insurance premiums and related invoices are processed timely.
• Serve as the primary finance contact for insurance-related reporting and administration.
• Maintain insurance schedules and supporting documentation.

6. Shared Services Leadership

• Lead and manage: 
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Cash Application
  • Staff Accounting functions
• Drive process standardization and consistency across all locations.
• Monitor workload balancing and service levels across the accounting organization.
• Establish KPIs and performance expectations for shared services personnel.
• Promote automation and efficiency improvements where appropriate.

7.  Accounting & Integration

• Own accounting oversight of sister company
• Ensure accurate integration into consolidated financial reporting.
• Maintain consistency between sister company accounting practices and corporate reporting requirements.
• Support future system integration and process standardization efforts.

8. Audit Coordination & External Reporting

• Serve as primary coordinator and point of contact for external auditors.
• Manage: 
  • audit timelines
  • audit deliverables
  • PBC requests
  • auditor communication
• Coordinate preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Ensure timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries.
• Partner with the CFO regarding: 
  • technical accounting matters
  • accounting policy decisions
  • final audit conclusions
  • audit sign-off

9. Systems, Process Improvement & Scalability

• Drive improvements in: 
  • close efficiency
  • financial reporting quality
  • reconciliation processes
  • cash forecasting processes
• Support ERP and financial systems initiatives.
• Promote automation, standardization, and scalable processes.
• Help build infrastructure capable of supporting growth from approximately $150M to $200M+ in revenue.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience with: 
  • month-end close
  • financial reporting
  • account reconciliations
  • multi-entity accounting
• Experience managing accounting personnel
• Advanced Excel skills

Preferred

• Manufacturing accounting experience
• Inventory accounting exposure
• Multi-site environment experience
• ERP experience (Plex preferred)
• Treasury and cash forecasting experience
• External audit coordination experience
• CPA strongly preferred
