Cook Per Diem (Weekend) or Part Time

As a Cook for Aurora Behavioral Health Care you will participate in the provision of quality meals and nutritional services to patients, staff, and guests. Pay Range $23/hr to $25/hr. Work Schedule Per Diem: Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Part Time: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, variable hours/8 hours a day. Work Site Location 11878 Avenue of Industry, San Diego, CA 92128 Responsibilities Prepares meals for patients, employees, medical staff, and visitors. Preps ingredients for meals and catering events. Cleans work area as necessary or assigned. Accepts and reconciles deliveries and puts away stock. Participates in activities which enhance professional growth and development; complies with facility safety, infection control, and security program. Skills Must be able to concentrate on work amidst distractions such as noise, conversations, and foot traffic. Must consistently meet deadlines and finish all food preparation at specified serving time. Must be flexible in work hours to meet patient and organization operating needs. Must maintain self‑control in volatile or hostile customer service interactions. Must be able to adjust recipes to achieve desired results. Must read and comprehend recipes or instructions on prepackaged products. Ability to read, convert, and adjust mathematical measurements for recipe adjustments. Must use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, and dishwashers; possess knowledge of essential hygiene factors involved in food preparation. Knowledge of cleansing products and appropriate methods of surface cleaning. Must work independently in a restricted physical environment for extended periods. Must perform several tasks concurrently and maintain confidential information. Requirements High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Valid California food handler card. Two years of experience in dietary work in a hospital setting preferred.
