Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your work will take place in an onsite hospital facility located in Reston, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans as developed by supervising Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Provide hands-on therapeutic care including exercises, gait training, balance improvement, and mobility support tailored to each patient's capabilities.
• Regularly observe, document, and report on patient progress and responses to therapy, ensuring all records are maintained accurately and comply with Medicare and facility guidelines.
• Educate residents and their caregivers on safety strategies, home exercise programs, and self-management practices to promote continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nursing and wellness staff, to coordinate comprehensive care that addresses the full spectrum of patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with geriatric patients and those recovering from acute illnesses or surgeries. Your role will be crucial in assisting them to regain independence while ensuring a safe and supportive environment throughout their rehabilitation process. The ideal candidate must be sensitive to the unique needs of an elderly population, focusing on enhancing their mobility and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Virginia.
• CPR certification required, with a willingness to obtain it promptly upon hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, especially in a setting focused on geriatric or long-term care.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this full-time position is between $60,000 and $75,000 annually, plus an attractive benefits package including:
