Location Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (on‑site; client locations in Poughkeepsie and Yorktown Heights) Work Schedule On‑site, 1st shift (7:00‑15:00) Monday – Friday; on‑call availability required for 24/7 emergency response. Reports To HSSE Director Compensation $120,000 – $140,000 annually Role Overview The Environmental Operations Lead supervises and leads all environmental and industrial water treatment plant operations for the Mid‑Hudson Valley. The role balances supervisory duties with active participation in billable project work, shaping team strategy, overseeing complex projects, building client relationships, and mentoring staff. Key Interactions Internal: JLL Site Facility Management, JLL Account HSSE Director, JLL Site Team, Account Manager, Operations Managers, Chief Engineers, WPS Managers, Technicians, JLL Risk Management, Small Capital Project Team Client: Client HSSE Team and various client groups at site locations External: HSSE‑related regulatory agencies, JLL Service Partners Day‑to‑day Responsibilities Lead, provide expertise, and direct IWTP plant operations; supervise staff and allocate maintenance tasks. Collect, report, and track environmental monitoring; maintain facility operating records; conduct storm‑water compliance inspections, sampling, reporting, and training per SPEDES, SWPPP, and ISWGP. Hire, train, evaluate performance, and enforce discipline; manage time, equipment, tools, chemicals, and technology. Develop and implement long‑range plans, budgets, and resource allocations; coordinate accurate management of all wastewater treatment operations. Troubleshoot equipment failures; evaluate maintenance and treatment standards; perform audits and provide technical direction. Plan, control, supervise, and coordinate activities; conduct staff meetings to ensure equipment availability and reliability for wastewater and non‑contact cooling‑water treatment. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; supervise chemical use; oversee laboratory analysis; file necessary paperwork. Identify and implement methods to improve production and effectiveness. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, civil engineering or related field. HSSE experience in corporate facilities, manufacturing, research, or maintenance operations. Ability to read and interpret building layouts, system drawings, and equipment specifications. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements; experience managing compliance and agency interactions. Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations relating to air, water, solid waste, and material recovery/recycling. Emergency Response Team (ERT) experience including HAZWOPER. Strong time‑management, interpersonal communication, and multitasking skills. Capability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Adherence to company policies and promotion of safety standards; demonstrated honesty and trustworthiness. Proven client‑service orientation and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualification New York State Grade 4A Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operator Certification.
