Material Sales Specialist

Responsibilities Source and place recyclable materials, while understanding the gradations of each material. Analyze and interpret pricing information from various sources to ensure profitable transactions. Develop and maintain relationships with business partners, both domestically and internationally interested in purchasing recyclable materials. Monitor and report on market trends and initiatives related to environmentally friendly products and businesses. Coordinate logistics procedures, including port operations and trucking, to ensure efficient material movement. Maintain familiarity with weights, measures, and trucking scale requirements. Oversee inventory practices for the storage and management of materials. Manage buyer relationships, including engaging with executive management as needed. Utilize MS Office, especially advanced Excel functions, and proprietary software (such as AMCS/Elemos, CieTrade, SofPak) to support sales and operational activities. Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders to build strong internal and external relationships. Manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously, prioritizing competing deadlines. Qualifications Experience in the recyclable materials commodities market Strong understanding of pricing, sourcing, and placement of material commodities. Familiarity with logistics procedures, including port operations and trucking industry practices. Knowledge of weights, measures, and trucking scale requirements. Experience with inventory management for material storage. Proven ability to manage and influence buyer relationships, including executive-level contacts. Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (macros, advanced formulas). Experience with proprietary software such as AMCS/Elemos, CieTrade, or SofPak. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and cost drivers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
