As a High-Volume Manufacturing Shift Equipment Engineer, you will join a world-class team supporting our essential high-volume manufacturing ramp. This hands-on role involves overseeing, maintaining, and improving equipment while working closely with process team members and area engineers. You will handle tool performance, conduct preventative maintenance, and resolve mechanical, electronic, and software problems to ensure seamless equipment operation. This is a shift role with 3-4 days off each week.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Equipment Owners and Shift Engineers/Technicians to implement daily activities to resolve issues that could cause yield loss, excursions, defects, tool restrictions, or output loss and drive root cause analysis to permanent prevention.
- Improve area/shift benchmarks by driving Long Term Down (LTD) reductions, Manufacturing Availability (MA) improvements, and excursion prevention to optimize overall fab performance.
- Drive a culture of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), including TPM metrics, workstation health reports, continuous improvement projects, and machine tags.
- Analyze data with SPC principles to improve process controls and reduce defectivity baselines.
- Apply Build of Experiment (BOE) principles and/or 8D problem solving methodology to identify equipment issues driving unscheduled down.
- Accurately identify and handle chemicals and associated hazards in the work area, recognize and react appropriately to safety alarms (EES, fire alarm, MDA, ERT, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; other related fields may be considered.
- Over 2 years of experience as an equipment engineer in the semiconductor industry is strongly preferred. Alternatively, over 2 years of proven mechanical aptitude with demonstrated skill in understanding and resolving mechanical problems is also valued.
- Must be adaptable to work in a cleanroom setting on 12-hour shifts, rotating 3-4 workdays per week and switching from days to nights every four months.
- Understanding of AC/DC circuits and basic electronic components, including electrical, vacuum, gas flow, and mechanical principles. More than two years of experience repairing systems at the component level using schematic diagrams.
- Intermediate to advanced software skills, i.e. Python, Java, Tableau, Matlab, MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to learn area equipment, including knowledge of the process and understanding of how the equipment is built to process.
- Intermediate understanding of the fab process areas, including area processing equipment and supporting systems.
- Strong time management, organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating in a fast-paced fab environment.
- Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
