The Prekindergarten Teacher will play a vital role in shaping the early learning experience of our students by creating a safe, engaging, and challenging classroom environment. This individual will provide a day of stories, songs, conversations, critical thinking, and cooperative learning to stimulate curiosity and active learning. The ideal candidate also has a heart for young children, a servant-leader mindset, and a desire to contribute to building a strong educational community. Our goal is to have all prekindergarten students reading by the end of the year and more than ready to enter kindergarten.

Responsibilities:

• Develop lesson plans to challenge, inspire and prepare students for the next academic step with the potential to accelerate grade-level opportunities
• Assess each child’s progress and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Participate in school events, chapel and prayer time, honor God’s calendar and Feasts, meetings, and planning efforts as part of a start-up team
• Protect the school’s brand by operating with integrity and abiding by God’s Word in activities at school and away from school

Qualifications:

• Has beliefs aligned to the Statement of Faith and an unwavering commitment to the Living God.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with certification through the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE)
• Ability to pass required background and health screenings
• Experience teaching STEAM/CS in pre-school
• Ability to help build and support a school from the ground up
