Math Teacher: Lake Catholic High School

Founded in 1970, Lake Catholic High School is a coeducational comprehensive high school with a college preparatory emphasis. Lake Catholic is committed to educating young men and women of diverse means and ability throughout Northeast Ohio. With a population of roughly 575 students in grades nine through twelve, Lake Catholic High School emphasizes spiritual growth in the Catholic Faith as students learn, work, and serve. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS As a member of the school faculty, the mathematics instructor will be responsible for teaching 9th-12th-grade mathematics classes as assigned by the principal. Implement the curriculum in accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of Cleveland and the Ohio Department of Education. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to Individual Education Plans (IEP). Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and critical thinking. Utilize various teaching methodologies to accommodate diverse learning styles. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary approaches to teaching history. Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and other events throughout the year. Maintain a safe and effective learning environment. Provide outstanding and engaging instruction to students. Monitor students and complete other school-related responsibilities as assigned by the principal. Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate progress with students, parents, and school administrators. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or higher (master’s preferred but not required). 7-12 integrated mathematics/mathematics teaching certificate through the Ohio Department of Education. Strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese of Cleveland and Catholic Church. Prior experience teaching similarly aged students is preferred, but not required. Candidate must also be able to pass FBI and BCI background checks and complete the Diocese of Cleveland VIRTUS program.
