Job Summary:
The Dietitian is responsible for providing expert nutritional care and support in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves conducting nutrition assessments and reassessments, managing enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies, and addressing protein calorie malnutrition. The Dietitian collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes through tailored nutritional interventions. A minimum of one year of experience and appropriate licensure is required, with a preference for adult outpatient/clinic experience. Responsibilities:
- Conduct nutrition assessments and reassessments for patients.
- Manage enteral nutrition (tube feedings) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) therapies.
- Identify and treat protein calorie malnutrition.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement nutrition care plans.
- Document patient care and nutrition interventions accurately using Cerner charting system.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
- Active Illinois state dietitian license.
- Minimum of 1 year of dietitian experience; first-time practitioners accepted.
- Experience with enteral nutrition and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
- Experience in nutrition assessments, reassessments, and managing protein calorie malnutrition.
- Experience in adult outpatient or clinic settings.
- No weekend or on-call requirements.
- Floating outside of scope is not required or expected.
- Parking permit required but provided at no cost.
- Work environment is a Level II Trauma acute care hospital with 372 staffed beds.
- Schedule accommodations for block scheduling are not available; fixed M-F schedule.
- Pending license accepted if active at time of start.
- Client may cancel up to 36 hours of scheduled work per 13-week assignment without penalty.
- Monday through Friday, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
- No weekend shifts required.
- Schedule is fixed with no floating or on-call duties.
