Senior Front-End Developer, Design Systems

Salary: $95,000 - 209,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for 8+ years of experience as a Front-End Developer, with substantial exposure to design system work.
• We need advanced proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• We require deep expertise in modern front-end frameworks, including Angular and React.
• We expect strong command of CSS, including preprocessors, advanced styling techniques, CSS variables, variable stacking, and robust color systems.
• We seek extensive experience with Web Components in large-scale systems.
• We need a proven track record of scaling design systems, managing complex theming architectures, and delivering smooth production releases.
• We expect a solid understanding of version management and library dependency management within a component library environment.
• We value experience with packaged version control for design system assets.
• We are looking for a passion for high-quality documentation and for creating working code demonstrations that clearly explain component usage.
• We need excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• We want someone with a sharp eye for visual and interactive detail, a strong grasp of user interaction patterns, and the ability to work closely with designers to translate design intent into intuitive, user-focused solutions.
• Bonus experience includes work in Financial Services or FinTech, contributions to open-source design systems or component libraries, collaboration with UX designers, advanced interaction design knowledge, and use of AI to support your work and others work.

• We will ask you to lead the development and evolution of our design system, with an emphasis on reusability, scalability, and maintainability.
• You will architect and implement web components that form the foundation of our user interfaces.
• You will drive advanced theming solutions to support multiple brand identities and user preferences using CSS variables, variable stacking, and sophisticated color systems.
• You will manage the full lifecycle of design system components, from development through production release, versioning, and ongoing upkeep.
• You will oversee library and package dependency management to maintain a stable and efficient development environment.
• You will collaborate closely with design, product, and engineering teams to convert design principles into technical solutions.
• You will promote best practices in front-end development, performance, and accessibility.
• You will mentor and support other developers on design system principles and implementation.
• You will develop, collaborate on, and maintain strong documentation, components, and guidelines for designers and developers.
• You will create working code demonstrations to showcase component usage and capabilities.
• You will contribute to delivering elegant, performant user interfaces that make a meaningful impact on product development.
