Job Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both formal evaluations and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment strategies that target both interim goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy that addresses communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate cohesive care plans.
- Provide education for patients and their families, empowering them to promote progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Occasionally participate in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure seamless continuity in patient care.
- Maintain precise and prompt documentation in accordance with all relevant guidelines.
- Stay informed on best practices through ongoing education and collaboration with peers in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hiring.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for a variety of age groups, understanding both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and collaborative healthcare teams.
- Adept at modifying therapy approaches to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic preferences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable working with electronic medical records and compliance documentation.
