Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 12-hour shifts | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 32-bed flex unit serving intermediate and general care populations
• Care for oncology patients requiring surgical intervention as well as benign surgical patients across specialties including ear, nose and throat, colorectal, OB/GYN, urology, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, thoracic, and plastic surgery
• Maintain a 1:4 RN-to-patient staffing ratio
• Read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips as a core clinical requirement
• Perform neurological assessments utilizing NIHSS
• Document and manage patient records using the EPIC electronic health records system

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
• ACLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA)
• BLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Ability to fulfill scheduling requirements: 3 out of 4 holidays and 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, IMC, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with NIHSS assessment tools
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Background working with surgical oncology or multi-specialty surgical patient populations
