AI Automation Engineer

Role: AI Implementation Specialist Priority Location: Open to South Africa, Latin America, or the Philippines (Open to global search) Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 20–40 hrs/week with 8 AM–3 PM Central Time overlap Target Start Date : ASAP

About the Role:

We are seeking an AI Automation Engineer to lead the identification, design, implementation, and continuous optimization of AI-powered business processes across every department. You will analyze how the business operates, redesign workflows, integrate systems, and build automations that reduce manual work, lower operating costs, improve employee productivity, and enhance the customer experience. This is a hands-on implementation role using modern AI platforms, automation tools, APIs, and low-code technologies—not building foundation models.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Process Discovery

• Analyze workflows across sales, marketing, operations, finance, HR, customer support, client onboarding, and service delivery.
• Identify automation opportunities and prioritize by ROI.
• Document current-state and future-state processes.

AI Workflow Automation

• Build automations using n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate or similar.
• Integrate business systems through APIs, webhooks and AI services.
• Automate document processing, email, reporting, approvals, notifications and data synchronization.

Sales & CRM

• Automate lead capture, qualification, CRM updates, proposals, contracts, meeting summaries and follow-ups.

Marketing

• Automate SEO, content generation, social media publishing, email marketing, campaign reporting and ad monitoring.

Client Onboarding

• Automate project creation, document collection, kickoff scheduling, credential collection and onboarding workflows.

Customer Success

• Build client health dashboards, recurring reports, renewal reminders and risk monitoring.

Finance

• Invoicing, Collections, A/R follow-up and reminders, Cash flow analysis, executive reporting

AI Agents

• Develop AI assistants for employees and customers that answer questions, retrieve knowledge, draft communications and execute workflows.

Knowledge Management

• Build internal AI knowledge bases connected to SOPs, documentation and policies.

Executive Reporting

• Create dashboards for revenue, pipeline, claims, marketing, finance and operational KPIs.

Continuous Improvement

• Continuously identify new automation opportunities, measure ROI, train staff and drive AI adoption.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience implementing AI and workflow automations in business environments.
• Hands-on experience with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience with automation platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier or Power Automate.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, OAuth and webhooks.
• Experience integrating Go High level, project management systems like ClickUp and productivity platforms.
• Strong process mapping, documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to independently identify high-impact automation opportunities.

Nice to have:

• Python or JavaScript experience.
• SQL, RAG or AI agent framework experience.
• HIPAA-compliant automation experience.
• Marketing agency, healthcare, medical billing or association management experience.

Success Metrics:

• Deliver 30+ production AI automations in the first 3 months.
• Reduce manual administrative effort by at least 40%.
• Reduce onboarding time by 75%.
• Create reusable automation templates and documentation.
• Increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
