About Us Sylvan Learning Center helps students build confidence and academic skills through individualized, research-based lessons. We combine expert-designed curriculum, a low 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio, and flexible scheduling so tutors can focus on teaching and making a difference. Why You’ll Love This Role Teach small groups (max 3 students) with ready-to-use, engaging lesson plans and provided manipulatives and materials. Make meaningful progress with individualized learning plans for each student. Flexible, part‑time hours — most tutors work 2–5 days per week. Opportunities for professional growth and advancement. Key Responsibilities Deliver expert-designed lessons in reading, math, writing, and/or study skills across elementary, middle, and/or high school levels. Follow individualized learning plans; monitor and record student progress. Create a positive, motivating, and supportive learning environment. Communicate professionally with students and center staff. Qualifications Experience working with children or teens (classroom, tutoring, coaching, or related). Strong subject knowledge in at least one area: reading, math, writing, or study skills. Excellent communication, patience, and classroom management skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work in-person (this is NOT remote). State teaching credential required for most programs, degree in education or related field preferred.
