A Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse assists patients recovering from heart related events or those managing cardiovascular disease. They guide patients towards heart healthy lifestyles to reduce future risks, often providing education on risk factor management, monitoring vital signs, and facilitating exercise sessions. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Monitor patients’ vital signs and cardiac responses during supervised exercise sessions. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, exercise physiologists, and dietitians. Educate patients and families on heart-healthy lifestyle changes, including nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation, and stress management. Administer medications and assist with diagnostic procedures such as stress tests and telemetry monitoring. Provide emotional support and counseling, helping patients adjust to lifestyle changes and cope with anxiety or depression related to cardiac illness. Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for each patient. Stay current with cardiac care guidelines and participate in continuing education. Includes all other duties assigned which may include but not be limited to: Assisting with community outreach or heart health education events. Training or mentoring new staff or nursing students. Coordinating with insurance providers for patient coverage or documentation. Maintaining equipment used in exercise sessions or telemetry monitoring. Helping with administrative tasks, such as scheduling or patient follow-up call Participating in quality improvement initiatives or data collection for program evaluation. Position Skills & Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and must clearly demonstrate all required competencies. The education/experience, certifications, skills, physical demands, and work environment described below further define requirements associated with this position. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required. Strong relationship and communication with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and clinical leaders required. Continual industry and job specific education required. Education/Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) license, often with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). BLS and ACLS required. 2+ years of experience in cardiac care or critical care settings Strong communication and patient education skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. BLS and ACLS required. Salary & Benefits: Salary: The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
