Director, Regulatory Remediation
Madison-Davis, LLC
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced regulatory remediation leader to oversee complex, high-priority initiatives within a highly regulated financial services environment. This individual will work across business, risk, compliance, audit, and executive leadership to drive regulatory and internal issues from initial assessment through sustainable closure.
\n \nThe role requires someone who can bring structure to complex problems, challenge senior stakeholders when necessary, and ensure remediation efforts are well-designed, properly documented, and delivered on schedule.
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Lead and coordinate significant regulatory, compliance, and audit remediation initiatives across multiple business areas. \n
- Establish clear remediation plans, governance, milestones, ownership, dependencies, and success measures. \n
- Partner with stakeholders to identify underlying root causes and develop corrective actions that address both immediate findings and longer-term control weaknesses. \n
- Track remediation progress, risks, deliverables, and action items while holding accountable parties to agreed timelines. \n
- Prepare concise, executive-level reporting for senior management, Board-level audiences, governance committees, and regulators. \n
- Coordinate with regulatory affairs and other control functions on regulatory responses, remediation updates, and supporting documentation. \n
- Review corrective action plans and supporting evidence to ensure issues are addressed comprehensively and can withstand regulatory or audit scrutiny. \n
- Support risk assessments, control testing, evidence mapping, data lineage analysis, and validation activities associated with remediation. \n
- Maintain and enhance the organization's remediation methodology, standards, and procedures. \n
- Facilitate cross-functional working groups and governance forums involving senior stakeholders across the organization. \n
- Identify delivery challenges early and drive escalation or intervention when remediation programs are at risk. \n
What We’re Looking For
\n- \n
- 7+ years of experience across regulatory remediation, compliance, risk management, audit, or related governance functions. \n
- Background within financial services, insurance, financial market infrastructure, or another highly regulated industry. \n
- Demonstrated experience leading complex remediation or regulatory change programs involving multiple stakeholders, workstreams, resources, budgets, and deadlines. \n
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and risk-management frameworks; exposure to Regulation HH, CPMI-IOSCO standards, or the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMI) is highly desirable. \n
- Experience with risk assessments, control testing, data lineage, documentation review, and remediation evidence. \n
- Strong understanding of regulatory change and issue-management processes. \n
- Ability to produce polished materials suitable for executives, Boards, auditors, and regulators. \n
- Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and driving accountability in high-pressure environments. \n
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through ambiguity and large or complex data sets. \n
Qualifications
\nBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, law, business, or a related discipline required. Relevant professional credentials such as CPA, CIA, project management, risk, or compliance certifications are advantageous.
