ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Our client, a high-growth, private equity-backed SaaS organization , is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their expanding finance team. This is a newly created, high-impact role offering the opportunity to take ownership of the accounting function while helping build scalable processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This position will partner closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams, supporting both day-to-day accounting operations and strategic initiatives tied to growth, automation, and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

• Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial results
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules
• Analyze financial results, identifying variances and partnering with leadership on follow-up

Accounting Operations

• Oversee core accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, invoicing, and cash management
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external reporting requirements
• Manage multi-entity and/or multi-state accounting environments

Leadership & Team Development

• Supervise and develop a small team, including reviewing work and driving accountability
• Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining ownership of final outputs
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative team environment

Process Improvement & Systems

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency across accounting operations
• Support automation and transformation initiatives, including system enhancements and implementations
• Build and document scalable accounting processes, policies, and internal controls

Cross-Functional & Strategic Support

• Partner with finance and operational leaders to support business initiatives and reporting needs
• Assist with audit, lender, and investor-related deliverables
• Serve as a key liaison to external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party partners
• Support ad hoc analysis and special projects as the organization continues to scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a blend of public accounting and industry experience
• Experience within a private equity-backed SaaS organization required
• Strong background in month-end close, financial statement preparation, and multi-entity environments
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
• Experience working in high-growth or scaling organizations preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (ERP experience a plus)
