Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: CVICU\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU night shift position requiring prior CVICU experience and NextStage CVVH machine proficiency.Details\n \n Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting within a Level I Trauma teaching hospital\n Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)\n Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage\n No on-call responsibilities\n Patient ratio of 1:2-3\n Uses Epic charting system\n Floating required as needed\n Requirements\n \n Active WI or compact RN license required\n Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required\n Minimum 2 years of acute care CVICU experience within the last 3 years required\n Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required\n Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months\n Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area experience preferred\n Teaching hospital experience preferred\n Skills required include arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips\n Must be able to pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start\n Additional Information\n \n Care for post-cardiac surgery patients, including those coming directly from the OR\n Manage patients with devices such as IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, and epicardial pacing wires\n Perform sheath removal and manage patients undergoing TAVR and valve repair/replacement procedures\n Monitor and manage patients with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure\n Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKGs\n Located at a Magnet-designated, top-ranked teaching hospital\n Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted\n Previous travel experience required\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-752398.
