Our Parts Department Staff are responsible for performing a range of tasks in and around Zimmerman Plumbing & Heating, Inc. (ZPH) property as well as on-the-job support for technicians. All work should be done while upholding the core values and vision of ZPH.

Summary of Duties:

This position requires an individual who is independent, adaptable, dependable, and who possesses initiative within the scope of his/her experience. The ability to effectively communicate with all fellow staff, customers and vendors. 

• Maintain a clean and well-organized warehouse and overall property
• Assist with the management of physical inventory
• Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks
• Receive and restock products from suppliers and ensure quantities are maintained
• Pull and stage material to be ready for upcoming jobs
• Pick-up orders and other material from suppliers
• Pick-up and deliver materials to field personnel
• Assist technicians at worksite as needed
• Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of company tools and supplies
• Utilize and understand company dispatching software 
• Maintaining a professional appearance through company provided uniforms and recommended attire set forth in company handbook.
• Upkeep of parts department vehicles 
• Maintenance and general upkeep of ZPH property
• Perform job duties without direct oversight or assistance
• Maintain regular communication with the office and field staff
• Adherence to ZPH handbook, policies, and procedures

 
Working hours typically between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with the understanding that hours can fluctuate; some afterhours may be required. Schedules will be determined at the time of hire. 

Physical demands for this position are heavy.  Must be able to lift/carry equipment and tools. Frequent driving, getting into and out of work truck, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, and maneuvering.  

This position works in the office, warehouse, and jobsites.  Frequent driving to jobsites and suppliers. Is exposed to driving hazards, inclement weather, and extreme temperatures. Adherence to Safety Policy and Driving Safety Policy is vital. 
 
Job Qualifications:

• Good verbal and written skills and to clearly communicate with staff, customers, and vendors
• Physical ability to perform all duties noted above and able to work safely in any weather condition found in Central Pennsylvania.
• Current Pennsylvania driver’s license and the ability to operate all fleet vehicles within 30 days of initial      employment.  Incumbent must be insurable by current ZPH insurance carrier.
• Able to represent ZPH in a professional manner at all times
• Manages time well
• Individual must be adaptable with changing work environments, high demand, delays or unexpected events
• Must pass initial background check, physical, and drug test prior to hire. And participate in on-going random drug tests. This is a tobacco-free workplace
