Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Summary:

At Absolut Care of Allegany, we are committed to providing compassionate and innovative care to our patients. Up to 30 hours per week. No weekends! As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in our interdisciplinary team, working closely with occupational therapists to design and implement patient-centered interventions. Responsibilities:

• Assist occupational therapists in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients with various physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities

• Conduct occupational therapy sessions, including but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, and cognitive skills training

• Utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to, adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care

• Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with agency policies and regulations

• Participate in treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop new treatment plans

Requirements:

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in occupational therapy or related field preferred

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to lift, transfer, and support patients as needed
