Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for providing customer service and processing orders from customers and Outside Sales Representatives (OSRs) via phone, email, fax, and walk-in business. The role requires a positive and professional demeanor while performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Respond to customer and OSR inquiries regarding product selection, pricing, and availability.
  • Process customer quotes and OSR orders with accurate pricing and descriptions in a timely manner.
  • Manage the customer order process, including order entry, placing orders with vendors, and tracking orders until they are received in the warehouse.
  • Coordinate the purchase and delivery of special products.
  • Maintain organized and detailed records of all quotes, orders, and shipments.
  • Develop knowledge and familiarity with the company's products and services.
  • Keep the work area clean and free of unnecessary clutter.
  • Represent the company with professional conduct and courtesy when interacting with co-workers, customers, and vendors.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in the use of computer and Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks.
  • Legible handwriting is required.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Other Qualifications:

  • You must have one to three (1-3) years of experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • QuickBooks experience is a plus.
  • Experience performing plan take-offs and/or reading blueprints is a plus.
