The mission of Christ’s Church of the Valley is to win people to Jesus Christ, train believers to become disciples, and send disciples to impact the world. The purpose of the Café Team is to enhance CCV’s ability to be a destination point for the unchurched, promote fellowship for attendees, and to support the staff in growing their ministries in the aspects of making people feel comfortable while on our campus. The Café position will facilitate the function of the Café Team within the Ministry Support Department of CCV including both weekend days.

Essential Job Functions  

• Recruit, retain, and direct volunteers is a high priority as they are essential to operations   
• Food preparation and distribution  
• Operating the POS systems and handling money  
• Equipment maintenance and cleaning  
• Supporting other ministry activity as needed for church events and programming

• Must be a regular attender of CCV  
• Is an active participant in a group and is a regular tither  
• Thrives in a team environment

Education & Experience  

• Food industry and/or food ministry experience is preferred 
• Food Handler’s Card is necessary  
• Understanding of kitchen processes is a strong asset  
• High School diploma/equivalent or actively pursuing  
• Catering Experience is preferred  

Working Conditions  

• 6-8 hour weekend shifts: some weekdays, Saturday & Sunday, with time off to attend a service (hours on Friday are determined by events on campus)  
• Expectation is to work weekends and holidays  
• Standing on feet for entire shift, excluding meals  
• Repetitive motions including but not limited to: bending, lifting, food prep skills  
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.  
• Extreme temperatures (hot and cold)
