General Laborer

Job Description

Job Description

At Artisan Masonry, we believe great work starts with good people. Our reputation is built on hard work, honesty, commitment, and follow-through. We take pride in our craftsmanship, do things the right way, and stand behind the work we deliver.

We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals to join our team as Masonry Laborers. In this role, you'll help keep our projects moving, support our skilled masons, maintain safe and organized job sites, and contribute to work built to last.

You don't need years of masonry experience to get started. We value a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, reliability, and pride in a job well done.

What You'll Do

As a Masonry Laborer, you'll play an important role in helping our crews complete projects safely, efficiently, and to our standards of quality.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare and Maintain Job Sites: Clear debris, organize work areas, assist with site preparation, and help maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Handle Materials and Supplies: Load, unload, move, and stage bricks, blocks, stone, mortar, tools, and other construction materials.
• Support Skilled Masons: Gather tools, prepare materials, mix mortar, assist with masonry installation, and help keep work moving throughout the day.
• Use Tools and Equipment: Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment appropriate to your training and experience.
• Assist with General Construction Tasks: Dig, backfill, move materials, and help set up or dismantle temporary work areas and structures as directed.
• Follow Safety Procedures: Use appropriate personal protective equipment, follow instructions, and help maintain a safe job site.
• Work as a Team: Communicate with crew members, respond to direction, and take responsibility for completing assigned tasks.

What We're Looking For

We want people who take their responsibilities seriously, work hard, and understand that quality results come from a team effort.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• Reliability: Arrive on time, be prepared to work, and follow through on commitments.
• Strong Work Ethic: Be ready for physically demanding work and maintain a productive attitude throughout the day.
• Willingness to Learn: Listen, ask questions, accept feedback, and develop new construction skills.
• Attention to Quality: Take pride in doing things correctly and paying attention to the details.
• Teamwork and Communication: Work respectfully with others and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Commitment to Safety: Follow job-site procedures and use tools and equipment responsibly.

Physical requirements: Masonry work involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying materials, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with reasonable accommodation where required. The role may involve lifting and carrying materials weighing 40–50 pounds.

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Previous masonry or construction experience is a plus, but we welcome candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and a genuine interest in learning the trade.

Why Work at Artisan Masonry?

At Artisan Masonry, we believe the way we work matters just as much as what we build. We want our employees to understand the value of their contributions and take pride in the results they help deliver.

Our work is guided by four principles:

• Hard Work: Bring effort, focus, and a willingness to get the job done.
• Honesty: Treat customers, coworkers, and business partners with integrity.
• Commitment: Take responsibility for your work and your team.
• Follow-Through: Honor your word and finish what you start.

For candidates who want to build their skills, masonry can offer an opportunity to develop a valuable trade through hands-on experience and guidance from experienced professionals.
