An exciting opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC certification to provide in-person coverage for a medical leave at a local school setting. This contract position serves a diverse PreK-12th grade caseload of approximately 40 students, including some who are nonverbal and benefit from low-tech AAC devices. The assignment is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2026, with an anticipated end date of November 20, 2026—potentially extending through the end of the semester. Early start options are available for those interested in shadowing the outgoing SLP and ensuring a smooth transition.

Applicants should have a strong background supporting students across the grade spectrum, with experience in both traditional and augmentative communication strategies. Confidence working within an educational team and delivering services aligned with IEP goals is essential.

Qualifications:

• Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
• New Jersey Department of Education certification for Speech-Language Specialists
• Prior experience working in schools, ideally with both verbal and nonverbal students
• Familiarity with low-tech AAC devices and communication boards
• Commitment to in-person service provision (teletherapy is not an option for this role)

Responsibilities:

• Manage a varied PreK-12 caseload, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans
• Conduct assessments, develop IEPs, and track measurable progress
• Collaborate with teachers, aides, and families for comprehensive student support
• Document session notes and meet state and school reporting standards
• Participate in orientation/shadowing with the current SLP, if available
