Status: Full Time, Exempt

Location: Moriarty, NM

Reports to: Software Lead

Sceye is a high-growth technology company, building the next generation of instant communications, imaging and remote sensing infrastructure through stratospheric platforms.

Our lighter-than-air high-altitude platform systems (LTA HAPS) are capable of maintaining position over an operational area in the stratosphere (altitudes of 18 – 21km). They can carry multiple telecommunications, imaging and remote sensing payloads, providing unique functionality, cost, environmental and societal advantages.

About the Position:

As part of Sceye’s Avionics Software Team, you will develop flight software for our high-altitude platforms, simulators, and ground systems. This role encompasses the full lifecycle of software. You will plan and scope work, write clean, scalable, and tested code, integrate and test your software with flight hardware and train flight operators on best practices for using your software.

 

What We’re Looking For:  

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Physics or 4+ years of industry experience.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming for device interfaces and best practices for a Linux environment.
  • Proficient in industry standard development tools and processes git, CI/CD pipelines, peer review.
  • Record of writing clean, scalable software for complex systems.
  • Ability to adapt and troubleshoot in a dynamic R&D environment.
  • Proficient in Python and shell scripting.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the aerospace, robotics, or performance vehicles industries.
  • Familiarity with Nix build system.
  • Experience with SQL databases, especially for system logging with SQLite.
  • Experience building physics based simulators and visualization.
  • Developing hardware interfaces such as ADC and GPIO, motor controllers, power switching
  • Experience with communication protocols such as Serial, CAN, and Ethernet.
  • Experience with multi-process messaging systems like ZeroMQ and MQTT.
  • Familiarly with Jira, Gitlab, Confluence and Agile processes.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or RF connectivity.
  • Experience developing user interfaces for flight/space operations.
  • Experience setting up networking and writing deployment and monitoring scripts.
