Youth Activities Assistant Manager

What You Will Create A daily Kids Club experience that feels imaginative and easy for families because the people, activities, spaces, and details behind it are thoughtfully prepared A team that arrives knowing what matters that day, how they contribute, and where to turn when they need support or direction Opportunities for supervisors, coordinators, and other associates to become stronger in their roles through coaching, feedback, recognition, training, and meaningful accountability Experiences that continue to feel fresh as themed activities, holidays, special events, and new programming take shape throughout the year Trust with parents and caregivers by listening well, responding thoughtfully, and helping resolve concerns with the care expected at Nemacolin A safe and dependable environment where training, facilities, equipment, procedures, and team readiness support children's well-being every day Stronger leadership capability of your own as you learn the full operation, support the manager's priorities, and step in on the manager's behalf when assigned or appropriate What You Can Expect To assist the Kids Club manager with daily operations, translating departmental priorities into effective staffing, schedules, programming, communication, and execution Meaningful people-leadership responsibility, including recruiting and interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, performance feedback, associate communication, and appropriate personnel processes in partnership with the manager Oversight of scheduling, payroll administration, labor utilization, supplies, inventory, purchasing needs, facility readiness, and other operational details within the manager's direction Responsibility for reinforcing safety procedures, supporting incident response and documentation, monitoring operating conditions, and modifying or suspending activities when established safety protocols require it Regular collaboration with resort departments on programming, special events, holidays, guest needs, and operational priorities Exposure to departmental financial performance through labor management, expense awareness, purchasing, and support of budget and P&L priorities A flexible schedule based on resort operations, including varying shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays What You Bring A people-focused leadership style with the ability to organize, motivate, coach, and appropriately hold a team accountable Meaningful childcare or youth-programming experience and an understanding of hospitality, recreation, guest service, or a similarly experience-driven environment Sound operational judgment and the ability to manage staffing, programming, guest needs, administrative responsibilities, and changing priorities Strong communication and problem-solving skills, particularly when working with parents and caregivers, associates, leaders, and resort partners Working knowledge of labor and expense management, payroll, purchasing, inventory, and other operational fundamentals Comfort with Microsoft Office applications and relevant scheduling, point-of-sale, or departmental operating systems Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Candidates with extensive, directly relevant childcare or youth-programming experience may be considered in lieu of the degree based on the depth and scope of their experience Minimum of two years of relevant experience in childcare, youth programming, recreation, hospitality, or a comparable operation, including at least one year of supervisory or team-leadership experience Experience coordinating staff and daily operations; previous experience in resort, luxury hospitality, recreation, or another service-focused environment preferred Ability to successfully complete required background checks and clearances, including FBI fingerprinting, PA Child Welfare clearance, and PA State Police criminal history check Willingness to obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and other certifications or training required for the position upon employment Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively and professionally with children, parents and caregivers, associates, leaders, vendors, and resort partners Valid driver's license Additional Information This job description reflects the primary responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position and is intended to provide a general understanding of the role.
