Building Automation Systems Specialist

Location: Norfolk, Virginia, United States of America. Responsibilities Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines, documenting details and communicating deficiencies. Plan work with Lead Technician and Team Leader. Assist with data backup from servers, set up configuration of PC workstations, support troubleshooting and resolution of network functions and sequences. Verify network performance and conduct operational testing, including final inspection and acceptance. Provide routine written reports and submit as‑built drawings to engineering. Coordinate scheduling of trade contractors for startup services and submit accurate time and expense reports. Work overtime as required, support compressed schedules, and be available for rotational on‑call or minimal overnight travel. Adhere to local, corporate and OSHA safety policies and work as part of a team to support customers. Qualifications Basic 1+ year’s experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment. Electro‑mechanical experience or relevant education and PC/software skills. Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting design and construction documents. Ability to work in varied environments (ladders, ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, etc.) and use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, tablet, and carry equipment up to 75 lbs unassisted. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Willingness to work overtime as needed. Age 18+, valid driver’s license with limited violations. Legally authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship. Preferred High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or related field. Benefits & Compensation Compensation range: $49,195 – $84,334 annually, depending on experience, skills, location and budget. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits.
