Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician maintains the facility and all production machinery, including pulverizers, sealers, mixers, grinders, augers, fillers, dehumidifiers, conveyors, and HVAC systems. This role focuses on creating and executing preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting issues, and performing repairs to minimize downtime and keep manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. The technician also supports general building maintenance and coordinates with external vendors for specialized work when needed, while being available for on-call emergency maintenance situations.

Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and update preventive maintenance schedules for all manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on pulverizers, sealers, mixers, grinders, augers, fillers, dehumidifiers, conveyors, and other manual and mechanical machines to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Inspect, clean, and change filters on all dehumidifiers and HVAC systems to ensure proper climate and moisture control throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and industrial equipment, including batchers, grinding and cutting machines, labelers, and other production machinery.
  • Perform light electrical work on equipment, including systems using 480V and 3-phase motors, in accordance with safety and electrical standards.
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including identifying issues, performing repairs, and replacing components as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to diagnose issues and guide repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain the overall facility, addressing general building maintenance needs within scope of expertise and escalating specialized work to external vendors when required.
  • Coordinate and communicate with external service providers and vendors for specialized maintenance, repairs, or installations.
  • Respond to on-call and emergency maintenance requests to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment failures that impact production.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to support traceability and continuous improvement of maintenance practices.
  • Support food and beverage manufacturing operations by maintaining equipment in compliance with facility standards and production requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while performing maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance work in a way that minimizes disruption to manufacturing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and help ensure that equipment and tools are stored and used properly.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience maintaining manufacturing equipment in an industrial or production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing and industrial maintenance, including work on pulverizers, sealers, mixers, grinders, augers, fillers, dehumidifiers, conveyors, batchers, grinding and cutting machines, labelers, and other manual or mechanical machines.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery and facility systems.
  • Ability to perform light electrical work, including experience with 480V systems and 3-phase motors.
  • Practical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and schematics for mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, including maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience in food and beverage manufacturing maintenance and on-call or emergency maintenance support.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Comfort working in a structured maintenance environment with climate and moisture-controlled rooms and adherence to facility procedures.
  • Ability to work an 8–10 hour shift between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with availability for on-call emergency maintenance.
  • Ability to follow non-disclosure requirements related to proprietary processes and recipes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Food and beverage manufacturing experience, particularly supporting production equipment and sanitary facility requirements.
  • HVAC and building maintenance experience, including climate control and dehumidification systems.
  • Experience working with pneumatic systems and 3-phase electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with reading and using mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Comfort working in a non-smoking facility with strict personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a bilingual environment; Spanish language skills are welcome.
  • Willingness to sign a non-disclosure agreement related to proprietary formulations and processes.

Work Environment

This role is based in a climate and moisture-controlled manufacturing facility that operates within a 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. window, Monday through Friday. You will work an 8–10 hour shift within those hours and may be called in for emergency maintenance when significant equipment issues occur. The facility is non-smoking and requires strict adherence to personal protective equipment, including hair nets, coats, gloves, and booties, to maintain product integrity and cleanliness. Work involves regular interaction with production equipment such as pulverizers, sealers, mixers, grinders, augers, fillers, conveyors, batchers, grinding and cutting machines, labelers, dehumidifiers, and HVAC systems. All rooms are climate and moisture controlled to support consistent manufacturing conditions. The environment supports bilingual and Spanish-only speakers and emphasizes confidentiality, with all team members required to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding proprietary supplement recipes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buda, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
