PRN Physician- Family Nurse Practitioner or Phys. Asst.

We are seeking an experienced Primary Care Provider for a PRN opportunity in New Iberia, Louisiana.

This position offers the flexibility of an as-needed schedule while providing the opportunity to deliver comprehensive medical care in a collaborative clinical environment.

The ideal candidate is confident managing patient care, comfortable treating a diverse patient population, and able to adapt to varying clinical coverage needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary care services, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.

• Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.

• Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications within the provider's authorized scope of practice.

• Perform routine office-based procedures as permitted by credentials and clinical privileges.

• Review laboratory results, diagnostic imaging, and other clinical findings.

• Coordinate care with clinical staff and other healthcare professionals.

• Maintain accurate patient records and follow applicable clinical standards.

• Educate patients on preventive care and ongoing health management.
  
   

Qualifications

Required

• MD/DO, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or Physician Assistant (PA) with an appropriate accredited degree.

• Active Louisiana professional license for the applicable provider role.

• Board certification or eligibility, as applicable.

• DEA registration and prescribing authority as required.

• Strong clinical judgment and primary care knowledge.

• Ability to work independently within the applicable scope of practice.

Preferred

• Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or outpatient primary care.

• Experience treating patients across different age groups.

• Background in collaborative healthcare environments.
