Radiation Therapist I

Please apply through our pipeline requisition here: Job Description This is a full‑time Radiation Therapist position for a day shift opportunity at Ball Memorial Hospital. The working hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, featuring no regular weekends and no major holidays. This position does include rotating on‑call responsibilities. Responsibilities Responsible for applying ionizing radiation to patients for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription and instruction of a radiation oncologist. Controls the exact amount of radiation to be administered locally, reproduces treatment fields, and ensures that exposure is made only to prescribed areas. Requires high levels of quality control, safety, treatment planning and administration, patient care, and patient scheduling. May be asked to mentor those with less experience and/or students during clinical rotations. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED is required. Registered RT (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registry eligibility required. For Registry eligible candidates, the candidate must pass the exam within three months of hire date. RT (T) license as issued and required by the Indiana State Department of Health is required. Requires current BLS certification. Requires extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of radiation oncology, including the operation of various complex equipment, application of mathematical computation for treatment planning and design production, and implementation of beam‑altering devices.
