A family-owned trucking fleet is hiring a Diesel Fleet Technician / Mechanic Trainee in Avonmore, PA to maintain trucks, trailers, dump trucks, lowboys, and step decks. Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, inspections, and filter replacements.
• Repair and replace lights, tires, brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components.
• Assist with and perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including charging, starting, and lighting circuits.
• Assist with DOT inspections and help keep trucks and trailers compliant with state and federal safety standards.
• Complete service documentation, work orders, and maintenance records accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while communicating repair needs with supervisors.

Requirements

• Required:
• • Hands-on mechanical experience, trade school training, or a strong interest in learning diesel truck and trailer maintenance.
  • Willingness to learn preventive maintenance, inspections, oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and common fleet repairs.
  • Ability to assist with or perform repairs to lights, tires, brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain, and electrical systems based on skill level.
  • Familiarity with or interest in learning DOT inspections, fleet safety standards, and repair documentation.
  • Dependable work habits, safe repair practices, and the ability to keep a clean, organized work area.

Ability to communicate equipment needs and repair recommendations with supervisors
