- Conducting in-depth patient evaluations, ordering lab tests, and developing tailored care regimens
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic patient needs either independently or in collaboration with physicians
- Educating families on preventative care and chronic disease management
- Prescribing medications and treatment plans within your scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-up and coordinated chronic care
- Working with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care
- Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation using electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in Iowa
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or specialty equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Strong clinical judgment complemented by a nurturing demeanor
- Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Agility in fast-paced, patient-oriented settings
- Proficiency in EMR systems and familiarity with telehealth platforms
- A teamwork-focused mindset and a commitment to evidence-based practices
