Your Responsibilities
  • Conducting in-depth patient evaluations, ordering lab tests, and developing tailored care regimens
  • Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic patient needs either independently or in collaboration with physicians
  • Educating families on preventative care and chronic disease management
  • Prescribing medications and treatment plans within your scope of practice
  • Engaging in patient follow-up and coordinated chronic care
  • Working with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation using electronic medical records (EMR)
Required Education
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Necessary Certifications
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in Iowa
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or specialty equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain within 90 days)
