Life Sciences Patent Agent - New York, NY

MissionHires is partnering with a global law firm (100+ years in practice) to hire a Life Sciences Patent Agent for its Intellectual Property Group, preferably based in New York, in a hybrid setting. The Patent Agent will collaborate with attorneys and clients to identify inventions, draft and prosecute patent applications, conduct patent searches and analyses, and support IP transactions. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, molecular biology, or cellular biology, along with strong academic credentials and excellent analytical, organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities Work directly with clients to identify and articulate inventive concepts in the life sciences Assist attorneys with drafting and prosecuting patent applications Perform patent searches and prior art analyses Support attorneys with technical diligence and analyses for IP transactions Prepare technical summaries, reports, and documentation to support IP strategy Collaborate with the IP team to manage dockets and deadlines in a hybrid work setting Requirements Ph.D. in organic chemistry, molecular biology, or cellular biology (required) Strong academic credentials Outstanding analytical, organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills Experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in life sciences (preferred) Ability to conduct patent searches and analyze prior art Capacity to provide technical support for IP transactions Willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement, preferably in the New York office Application must include: Resume, Undergraduate Transcript, Graduate Transcript, Writing Sample, and Cover Letter Compensation: $145,000–$215,000 base salary DOE, plus bonus and full benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/DCFSA, 401(k), Profit-Sharing, Holidays, PTO, Wellness Program) Benefits The base salary for this position is $145,000-$215,000 (Dependent of Experience).
