Job Description

The Site Medical Director at Erie West Town collaborates with the Site Health Center Operations Director regarding all aspects of site management; collaborates with Senior Provider Leadership and Human Resources to recruit, retain, and develop clinical providers; improves the quality of care of patients at the site by working with site medical providers, QI and Erie provider leadership to establish evidence-based best practices for the site; leads the clinical team to ensure cohesive care throughout the site.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

\n
• Collaborates with the Site Health Center Operations Director to ensure successful clinical operations at the site.
\n
• Accountable for the quality of care, patient satisfaction and clinical productivity for the site.
\n
• Actively participates in selecting providers to work at the site. Orients, coaches/mentors, evaluates and disciplines clinical providers for the site.
\n
• Implements and achieves performance goals and objectives that are set by the Senior Medical Directors and the Chief Clinical Officer for both individual providers and at the site level.
\n
• Communicates regularly with providers, both in writing and verbally, regarding changes in workflows, new Erie initiatives, and other important updates.
\n

Qualifications

Education

Required:

\n
• Physician, APRN or PA licensed to practice in Illinois required.
\n
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care discipline.
\n

Preferred:

\n
• Additional master's level degree or equivalent experience: public health, management and administration, or related field preferred
\n

Experience

Required:

\n
• Two years of post-residency or APRN / PA clinical primary care experience required.
\n
• Basic rescuer CPR certification
\n

Preferred:

\n
• Previous leadership experience preferred
\n

• Operational Awareness – Understanding of clinic workflows, patient access, and scheduling best practices.
\n

• Quality & Performance Improvement – Interest in clinical quality metrics, patient safety, and process improvement initiatives.
\n
• Communication Skills – Ability to communicate effectively with staff, providers, and leadership in a clear and professional manner.
\n
• Adaptability & Problem-Solving – Willingness to engage in problem-solving and process improvements within a dynamic healthcare environment.
\n
• Commitment to Equity & Patient-Centered Care – Dedication to providing equitable, high-quality care to diverse patient populations.
\n
• Basic Understanding of Healthcare Systems & Technology – Familiarity with electronic health records (Epic preferred) and ability to navigate data for decision-making.

Preferred:

• Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) preferred. Will be required to assist or work with non-English/Spanish-only speaking patients and/or guests.
