Apex Architectural Building Supply is a growing architectural building products company serving the Des Moines area since 2019. We specialize in high-quality architectural products and have built a strong reputation for quality, craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service.

As our company continues to grow, we have expanded our product offerings to provide customers with a one-stop shop for their hearth and architectural needs. Our products include manufactured stone, fireplaces, custom fireplace surrounds and mantels, and other specialty architectural products.

We work with homeowners, builders, contractors, designers, and construction professionals to help them find the right products for their projects. Our goal is to provide more than just products—we provide knowledgeable guidance, quality solutions, and an exceptional customer experience from product selection through completion.

Your Role as a Sales Consultant

We are looking for a motivated, driven, and relationship-focused Stone & Fireplace Sales Consultant to help grow our existing customer base and develop new sales opportunities.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has an eye for design and detail, and understands how to turn customer needs into the right product solution. You will work directly with homeowners and industry professionals to help them select stone, fireplaces, mantels, surrounds, and other architectural products for their projects.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build their own customer relationships, develop new business, and earn uncapped commission based on sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Expertise: Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of our stone, fireplace, and architectural product lines to provide customers with knowledgeable recommendations and solutions.
• Sales & Closing: Manage sales opportunities from initial contact through product selection, quoting, and closing while providing an exceptional customer experience.
• Customer Relationships: Build and maintain long-term relationships with homeowners, builders, contractors, designers, and other industry professionals.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities while continuing to grow relationships with existing customers.
• Networking: Develop relationships within the construction, remodeling, design, and building industries to expand our customer base and generate new business.
• Project Support: Work with customers to understand their project requirements and help them select products that meet their design, budget, and installation needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with our sales, production, and operations teams to ensure a smooth experience from the initial sale through project completion.
• Goal Setting: Establish and track sales goals and objectives while taking ownership of your results and contributing to the company's continued growth.
• Continued Training: Participate in ongoing product and industry training to stay current with new products, trends, and sales opportunities.

Applicant Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience in the construction or building products industry is strongly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Comfortable working with homeowners as well as contractors, builders, designers, and other industry professionals
• Formal sales training or education in a related field is a plus
