Director of Legal Operations

Growing law firm in the Los Angeles area, considered a powerhouse in the field of plaintiff's side wage-and-hour class action litigation, seeks a highly-qualified legal executive to join its expanding team. The firm has a robust caseload, in federal and state courts, against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies in multiple industries. Focusing on the prosecution of consumer and employment class and representative actions, involving wage-and-hour, unfair business practice, discrimination, and false advertising matters. The firm has recovered over one billion dollars on behalf of hundreds of thousands of employees and consumers in California. Main Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the legal assistant and paralegal teams, ensuring efficient, high-quality support across all active litigation matters. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate legal assistants and paralegals, providing guidance on performance, workload distribution, and professional development. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to standardize legal support functions and case workflows firmwide. Partner with attorneys to ensure legal support staff are properly staffed and aligned with case deadlines, court requirements, and discovery demands. Monitor case management systems and legal support workflows to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of filings and discovery. Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, technology use, and training within the legal support department. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Legal Operations Manager, Director of Legal Operations, or similar role. Experience helping to grow and scale a plaintiff’s litigation practice Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Strong knowledge of legal operations, technology, and process improvement, preferably within wage-and-hour or class action litigation. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Experience with legal technology and case management software, such as Litify or similar industry-standard platforms. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Legal Studies, or a related field.
