Phlebotomist 2

Job Summary Patient care provider – Light typing, good communication skills, and ability to work well under high stress. Works primarily with specimens from patients of all ages. Key Responsibilities Collectvenous and capillary whole blood specimens. Handle chain of custody for urine and venous blood specimens. Accession, label, and procure specimens for testing and transport. Register patients and place or delete test orders in the EMR/LIS system. Assist technologists and the Administrative Laboratory Director with laboratory operations as requested. Perform phlebotomy and related specimen collection tasks. Follow quality assurance procedures to maintain high product and service quality. Deliver customer‑focused service, responding promptly to patient and colleague needs. Technical Capabilities Basic awareness of specimen collection, phlebotomy, and quality assurance principles. Ability to verify and clarify test orders and patient information. Competency in using laboratory information systems (LIS) and EMR. Customer service skills that influence and support patients and coworkers. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.
