Accounting Manager- Manufacturing

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Accounting Manager for a client within the material handling solutions industry. Position Summary Manufacturing Accounting Manager (SAP & Cost Accounting) supports the organization's financial performance by analyzing manufacturing costs, maintaining accurate inventory and cost data, and assisting with month-end close and financial reporting. This role partners with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights that improve operational efficiency, profitability, and informed business decision-making. Responsibilities Develop and maintain standard costs while performing material, labor, and overhead variance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities. Support inventory accounting by reconciling inventory, validating cost of goods sold (COGS), and assisting with cycle counts and physical inventories. Prepare month-end cost accounting schedules, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports. Analyze manufacturing costs, product margins, and cost trends to support budgeting, forecasting, and pricing decisions. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain to improve cost accuracy and financial performance. Assist with annual budgeting, audit support, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies while maintaining data integrity within the ERP system. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Two to five years of cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience; manufacturing environment preferred. Working knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments to support business objectives.
