Job Summary

Retrēv Legal is seeking a reliable, hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to assist with the daily cleaning, upkeep, and general maintenance of our office building and surrounding property.

This position combines routine janitorial duties, light groundskeeping, and general building maintenance. The ideal candidate will have basic handyman skills, be comfortable performing a variety of tasks, and take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities

General Building Maintenance

• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance throughout the office building.
• Handle basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs within appropriate safety limits.
• Repair or replace minor fixtures, door hardware, and other building components.
• Assemble, move, and install office furniture and equipment.
• Conduct routine building inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Troubleshoot minor maintenance issues and coordinate larger repairs with management.

Cleaning & Janitorial

• Clean offices, restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and maintain restroom supplies.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Restock toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized building throughout the workday.

Groundskeeping & Exterior Maintenance

• Blow off parking lots, sidewalks, and building entrances.
• Perform weed trimming, weed removal, and light landscaping.
• Pressure wash exterior surfaces as needed.
• Remove trash and debris from the property.
• Maintain the appearance of the building exterior and surrounding grounds.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in building maintenance, apartment maintenance, general handyman work, or a similar position preferred.
• Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and landscaping preferred.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment.
• Comfortable performing routine cleaning and janitorial duties.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities.
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Willingness to learn new skills and assist with a variety of maintenance tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical work throughout the day.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to safely operate basic maintenance equipment.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is dependable, takes initiative, and can handle a variety of maintenance responsibilities without constant supervision.

This is not a specialized trade position, and advanced certifications are not required. We are looking for someone with practical maintenance knowledge who is willing to handle everything from cleaning restrooms and maintaining the grounds to completing minor repairs throughout the building.
