About the Role:

The Senior Director, Third-Party Delivery & Off-Premises Growth will be responsible for leading the strategy, growth and operational performance of Subway’s third-party delivery (3PD) business across North America while influencing key regions globally.

The primary focus of this role is third-party delivery; strengthening and growing our partnerships with major delivery marketplaces, improving execution across our restaurant system, identifying profitable growth opportunities and helping franchisees maximize the value of the channel.

This leader will bring meaningful, hands-on experience building, operating, optimizing or materially influencing a scaled 3PD business. They will understand how to translate platform strategy into restaurant-level execution while balancing sales growth, franchisee economics, guest experience and long-term profitability.

The ideal candidate combines strong operational instincts with commercial and analytical acumen. They are equally comfortable working with franchisees, senior internal stakeholders and major third-party delivery partners and can move fluidly between strategy and hands-on execution.

While this leader will partner closely with Subway’s Digital, Marketing, Technology and other teams, this role is not primarily focused on first-party app/web, loyalty, catering or digital marketing. Its center of gravity is growing and optimizing the third-party delivery business.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Lead the strategy, growth and operational performance of Subway’s North America third-party delivery business, developing annual and multi-year plans to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
• Identify and execute opportunities to grow 3PD sales while balancing consumer demand, platform economics, franchisee profitability and long-term channel health.
• Serve as a senior business leader for Subway’s relationships with major third-party delivery partners, including DoorDash, Uber Eats and other marketplace platforms.
• Translate 3PD strategy into effective restaurant-level execution across Subway’s large and complex franchise system.
• Partner closely with franchisees and Operations teams to drive adoption, improve execution, resolve operational challenges and strengthen overall channel performance
• Lead efforts to improve restaurant onboarding, platform execution, operating processes and technology integrations supporting third-party delivery.
• Partner with Analytics and Finance to develop KPIs, reporting cadences and performance insights that identify opportunities for sales growth, operational improvement and increased profitability.
• Evaluate promotions, offers and other growth investments through a disciplined ROI lens, ensuring strategies drive sustainable incremental demand rather than relying solely on discounting or short-term volume.
• Work cross-functionally with Operations, Technology, Marketing, Digital, Finance, Legal and other teams to ensure 3PD initiatives can be successfully executed and scaled across the Subway system.
• Identify and evaluate new opportunities within the third-party delivery and marketplace ecosystem that can expand Subway’s reach, improve economics or unlock incremental demand.
• Bring external perspective on emerging 3PD capabilities, marketplace trends and operating models while determining how those opportunities can successfully translate to Subway’s franchise system.
• Influence and guide key global regions by sharing 3PD best practices, learnings and scalable growth opportunities.
• Lead and develop the Off-Premises team while fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Meaningful direct experience in third-party delivery is required, including approximately 2+ years of hands-on experience building, operating, optimizing or materially influencing a scaled 3PD business.
• Experience within a major restaurant/QSR organization, third-party delivery platform, or another scaled delivery marketplace strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of the operational and commercial dynamics of third-party delivery, including major platforms such as DoorDash, Uber Eats or comparable marketplaces.
• Experience working within or closely alongside a franchise business, with demonstrated ability to engage, influence and build credibility with franchisees or other distributed operators.
• Strong operational orientation with demonstrated ability to translate strategy into restaurant-level execution, solve operational challenges and improve performance at scale.
  
• Strong commercial, financial and analytical acumen, including the ability to evaluate sales growth, unit economics, promotional effectiveness and ROI.
• Experience managing and influencing external strategic partners and complex commercial relationships.
