Title: Procurement/Supply Chain - Buyer - Purchase Order Requisition (Senior Level)

Duration: 04+months

Buyer Planner

Location: San Jose, CA
Schedule: Monday to Friday | Day Shift | 100% Onsite

Position Summary

The Buyer Planner is responsible for manufacturing planning, inventory management, on-time customer delivery, and Kanban ordering activities. This role involves supplier communication, scheduling, document preparation, records management, financial administration, and problem-solving to support ongoing manufacturing operations. The position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and plays a key role in driving material availability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage manufacturing planning activities to support on-time customer delivery.
• Coordinate Kanban ordering and inventory replenishment processes.
• Work closely with Procurement and Global Planning teams to ensure material availability and prioritization.
• Apply knowledge of international procurement and shipping concepts, including total cost models.
• Analyze manufacturing capacity and inventory requirements to determine production schedules.
• Execute forecasting and planning programs to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives related to material flow and supply chain processes.
• Communicate plans, risks, challenges, and opportunities across multiple departments and leadership levels.
• Collaborate with material teams to support effective inventory execution and customer delivery performance.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in planning and inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with ERP systems ( Oracle preferred; other ERP systems accepted ).
• Advanced experience with inventory management and planning systems.
• Strong Microsoft Outlook and general computer skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be proactive.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across multiple sites and departments.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on operational excellence and customer delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kanban planning and replenishment processes.
• Knowledge of international procurement and shipping practices.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.

Top Required Skills

1. Manufacturing planning, inventory control, and supply chain planning experience.
2. ERP system experience (Oracle preferred) and strong analytical skills.
3. Ability to manage inventory, forecasting, scheduling, and customer delivery commitments.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be comfortable working onsite five days per week.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently.
• Candidates with Master's degrees may be considered overqualified for this position.
