As we continue to grow, we are looking to add a Controller to join our Fluidraulics team.

Position Summary: In this role, you will lead the accounting and financial operations for the Pennsylvania and Ohio locations. This role is responsible for financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, cash management, credit and collections, internal controls, compliance, audits, and business performance analysis. Partnering closely with the President and VP of Finance, the Controller provides financial leadership, supports strategic planning, and helps drive operational and financial performance. As a hands-on leader, this position also supports key accounting, administrative, HR-related, and office operations functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across both locations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and management reports to support business decision-making.
• Partner with the President and VP of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and business performance analysis.
• Monitor financial and operational performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to improve profitability, efficiency, and growth.
• Analyze inventory, margin, and operational performance metrics and collaborate with business leaders to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies.
• Coordinate external audits, tax reporting, and financial reviews.
• Oversee sales and use tax compliance, including filings, audits, and exemption certificates.
• Evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Oversee cash management activities, including cash flow monitoring, working capital management, bank reconciliations, payment processing, banking relationships, and payment approval controls.
• Approve and manage customer credit decisions, including credit holds, credit risk assessment, collections oversight, dispute resolution, and customer refunds.
• Lead collections activities for Pennsylvania and provide oversight and backup support for Ohio, including customer follow-up and maintenance of customer credit records.
• Support strategic initiatives, business integrations, process improvements, and special projects.
• Review and resolve freight, vendor, and other accounting discrepancies and exceptions.
• Maintain the integrity of customer and vendor master data, financial records, and ERP system information.
• Support HR and payroll administration, including employee records, payroll inquiries, employee relations matters, benefits administration, and serving as a liaison to the VP of HR.
• Maintain financial, tax, credit, employee, and corporate records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate office operations for the Pennsylvania location, including facilities management, vendor relationships, utilities, and office support services.
• Administer employee expense reimbursements and petty cash activities for both locations.
• Respond to customer and vendor inquiries and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Provide backup support for billing, cash receipts, invoice processing, reconciliations, payment processing, phone coverage, email management, and other accounting and administrative functions as needed.
• Collaborate across departments and provide support to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer service.

Supervisory responsibilities

This position does not currently have direct reports but serves as the senior accounting and finance leader for the Pennsylvania and Ohio operations

Travel required

Occasional travel may be required between the Pennsylvania and Ohio office locations or for business-related meetings, training, audits, or company needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in a multi-location distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, cash management, and GAAP principles.
• Experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections, payroll, banking, and general ledger activities.
• Proven ability to analyze financial and operational performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems; Infor experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance requirements, and process improvement initiatives.
• Ability to operate effectively in a hands-on role while providing financial leadership and business partnership across the organization.
